In rock, punk is renewed, faster and intense.
Hard rock receives new influences, with stronger knocks the sound of the guitars are stronger too, what brought to the public one of the most popular kind of music of the decade: the Heavy Metal. Some of the examples that consecrated the decade in this gene of rock were: Iron Maiden, Helloween and Manowar, in the classic version of Heavy Metal; and Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, in Trash Metal. Keeping the roots of Hard Rock, it shows in the long periods of success that had the bands: Van Halen, AC/DC, Whitesnake and Scorpions, during the 80´s year.
Other numerous bands of rock and pop were born in 80´s year: Dire Straits, A-ha, Supertramp, U2, /the /smiths, Duran Duran. Some, that were born in the end of 70´s year, have just consolidered in the decade of 80.
The 80´s year are also known as the decade of the electronic music. In this time, the New Wave and the Synthpop had turned the musical gene more sold and popular, as how the Dance Music. MTv appears and the Hip Hop too; Advent of the electronic music in the dance floor and the first raves. In underground is created the label “ industrial music” for electronic bands more experimental and darked, although the several rock garage bands that would create the grunge in the decade of 1990. Was in the 80´s year that arise the slope of the music the create more variants, the House Music. Inspired in experimentations about hits of the 70´s year, principally the Disco Music, has as principal representants: Bomb the Bass, Séxpress, Gino latino, Coldcut, between others. In 83 has appeared in the underground the gothic sub-culture in England, named, incially, as “Dark” in Brazil, being the derivated of the Pos-Punk gene.
In Brazil it was released the first Rock in Rio (1985). It consolidated the musical style of MPB, or the popular Brazilian music ( arisen in the second half of the decade of 60), and the pop and rock and roll music bands, like Legião Urbana, Ultrje a Rigor, Engenheiros do Hawaii, Titãs, RPM, Claudio Zoli. MPB consacreted the position of destache of the females voices in the Brazilian music; between the individual phenomenous we can say: Elba Ramalho, Simone, Marina Lima, Maria Bethania, Zizi Possi, Fafá de Belem, Elis Regina , Gal Costa, Rita Lee. Between the males voices we can say: Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Tom Jobim, Guilheme Arantes, Fláio Venturini, Ivan Lins e Gilberto Gil.
Between the internation artists more charismatics, we can say: Michael Jackson, with the album thriller, the most sold of the history, and that invented the modern videoclip; the female part, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper, one of the principal fashion icon of all the times: Tina Turner come back to the world of music showing her new album, Private Dancer, Super succeded, although electrifying presentations around the world. Other singers that is destached in this decade are Kylle Minogue, Janet Jackson, George Michael, Boy George, Lionel Richie, David Bowie, Whitney Houston, Paula Abdul, Prince, Billy Idol, Bruce Springsteen, LauraBranigan, Roxette between others.
